eMAR

eMAR is a medication recording system provided by GraphixAsset to track and manage prescriptions, care notes, and medication administrations for supported people in a variety of healthcare contexts.

All support queries relating to this integration should be directed to Electronic MAR

Please note: Electronic MAR built and manage this integration. Please contact the Nourish Partnership Programme if you would like further information about this process [email protected]

What will this integration enable within Nourish?

This will allow data about supported people stored in Better Care to be imported into eMAR on request, and overnight each night, and for data about their medications and medication administrations to be sent to Better Care and displayed there in their Nourish Care Plan and Timeline immediately.

What information will be available within the Interaction?

Prescription details for current and past medications can be viewed in the Electronic MAR Medications Care Plan for a supported person within Better Care, and when medication is given, this can be viewed in their Better Care Timeline.

How do I get started?

To get started, contact the eMAR support team at [email protected] and let us know you would like to enable the Nourish Integration. You will need both to be a customer of eMAR, and to have a Better Care account with your supported people data ready to import. We will handle setting up your eMAR system to connect to Nourish on your behalf. We will then provide you with a token to enter in your Nourish settings to complete the integration.

IMPORTANT - Each person you support will need a valid NHS number (no white spaces), Date of Birth, First and last Name in the Nourish platform and, if they already exist in eMAR, in the eMAR platform too. This information MUST match, please check this information before you switch on the Integration.

1. Head over to Extensions, located under Administration in the menu and locate Electronic MAR in the list. Select the warning icon to see a list of all resident details for quick checking.

2. Once you are confident that the details in both Better Care and Electronic MAR match, you will need to request a token(s) from Electronic MAR to enable to the integration in Nourish. If you are a group with several services, you can choose which units use this integration and you will need to request 1 token for each service.

3. Head back over to Extensions, located under Administration in the menu and locate Electronic MAR in the list, and toggle the integration on for your service(s).

4. Next read and accept T&Cs.

5. Enter the token(s) provided by Electronic MAR and confirm.

FAQs

How often does data sync?

Supported person data is updated from Nourish every night, and a refresh can be triggered on demand by eMAR users with the correct permissions.

Medication administrations and prescription changes are sent to Nourish immediately as they are made and should appear within a few seconds.

What happens if the details don’t match?

We match data on supported peoples NHS Numbers (Health Number in Nourish) and Date of Birth. If these don’t both match, data for that supported person will stop syncing both ways between Nourish and eMAR. If eMAR detects a discrepancy that looks like the same supported person with different details who has stopped syncing, we display a warning in eMAR with the relevant details so you can rectify this.

Whose data is right?

For supported peoples personal details, such as name, date of birth, thumbnails, and allergies and intolerances, Nourish will overwrite eMAR data if it changes (this can be disabled if required, and only new supported people added during a sync instead). These changes should be made in Nourish and will appear in eMAR the following day (or after a manual refresh).

For supported people’s prescriptions, medications, medication administrations, and care notes, eMAR will update Nourish when any of these are added or changed.
